Make Your Fourth of July Party POP With Red, White & Blue Desserts

Discover the secret ingredient to making your Fourth of July party desserts POP with these recipes! I’ve always enjoyed creating red, white and blue foods for one of my favorite holidays. This year, I tried three new recipes. As always with my recipes, they must be easy to make and not require too many ingredients. Two of the recipes incorporate Pop Rocks (at the suggestion of my college roommate! Thanks Erica and Erica’s neighbor!) Firecracker Popcorn

Firecracker Popcorn

Ingredients
6 cups of Jolly Time Sea Salted popcorn (or homemade popcorn)
6 squares of vanilla almond bark
1 cup milk chocolate red, white and blue M&Ms
1 package Strawberry Pop Rocks
1 package Tropical Punch Pop Rocks

Instructions:
Melt almond bark in microwave. Put popcorn into heat-proof bowl and pour melted almond bark over popcorn. Add in M & Ms and Pop Rocks and let cool for at least an hour before eating. Store in covered container or in plastic bag that can be sealed until your party begins. Pour into patriotic bowl and serve!

 

Firecracker Strawberries

Ingredients
12 Large Strawberries
6 squares of vanilla almond bark
2 packages Strawberry Pop Rocks
2 package Tropical Punch Pop Rocks

Instructions:
Melt almond bark in microwave. Wash and dry strawberries. Dip strawberries into melted almond bark and then sprinkle with Pop Rocks. Chill in refrigerator for at least an hour before serving.

 

Patriotic Red, White & Blue Flag Brownie

Ingredients
1 9 x 13 pan of brownies (homemade or from a box)
Strawberries
Blueberries
White Frosting (homemade or purchased)

Optional Cream Cheese Frosting Recipe: Mix together one 8-ounce package of cream cheese (at room temperature) with one cup of powdered sugar and 1 tsp. Vanilla.

Instructions:
Bake brownies and let cool for at least an hour. Spread frosting over brownie and smooth. Make a square in the upper left corner with blueberries. Cut strawberries into thirds and arrange in lines to make the red stripes. This dessert is best if refrigerated for at least an hour before eating.
